This is where the program board executive council stayed for 2 nights, just a couple weekends ago. We didn't go to farm camp, but we stayed at the place that holds the farm camp: Frost Valley. It was cooooooooooold. We did team building activities, administrative junk, made smores, bonded with one another, hung out with the trees, did a ZIP LINE and high/low ropes course, and got lead around by this funny guy who made an awesome helicopter imitation noise. It was fun!, and if you run for the e-council or the e-board, then you get to can go next year...

As soon as I get some pictures from Adam EBnit, you'll get to see some PB faces, not just the face of a godzilla-sized lamby.

The Beginning

The Program Board is a student-run organization dedicated to providing affordable, quality entertainment and special events for the entire NYU community. The Program Board reaches out to the university community by co-sponsoring major events and theme months with other clubs and departments. As an important part of the Office of Student Activities, the Program Board provides a wide variety of diverse, educational, cultural, and community-building programs. Past events have included concerts by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Moby, Talib Kweli; lectures by Harvey Pekar, Jim Carroll; a popular weekly film series; and panel discussions featuring Rich Stevens, Jon Rosenberg, and Matt Chapp (which were, by the way, awesome).

Membership in Program Board offers opportunities to gain worthwhile experience while working with professionals in the arts and entertainment fields. Program Board members are responsible for every step of the event planning process, from booking of talent and contract negotiation to technical production and publicity.
Committees include: Archivist(committee running this blog!), Concerts(bigger shows, more $$$, artists peeps know), Film, Lectures, Membership, New Music(smaller shows with more emerging artists), Performing Arts, Poets & Writers, Pre-Release, Publicity, Student Arts, and Visual Arts.

~~~
The Program Board Blog is space for publicizing upcoming events, archiving past happenings(events and non-events), and commenting on/praising/critiquing past events (no hating please!). My name is Mike Crowley, and I'm the archivist chairperson, so I'll be updating this thing all the time, but soon hopefully other members of PB will take up some responsibility and help me out!
